Biographical Note

G. Graham Allan was a professor in the University of Washington School of Environmental and Forest Sciences. He recevied a PhD from the University of Glasgow in 1956, and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde in 1971. He was appointed to the faculty of the University of Washington in 1966 and retired in 2021. His teaching and research interests included creativity and innovation, fiber and polymer science, and forest management in the Pacific Northwest including Canada.

Content Description

Films and videotapes salvaged from the UW laboratory of G. Graham Allan. Includes recordings of lectures given by Allan in 2002 for Chemical Engineering 309 ("Creativity and Innovation"); topical videos by other School of Forestry faculty; commercially produced films from General Electric featuring Don Herbert ("Mr. Wizard") for its Progress for People campaign; and a Naval Ship Research and Development Laboratory film on rearing barnacles in a laboratory.
