- Asa Walter Judd (1868-1959) was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who lived in Kanab, Utah and Fredonia, Arizona. This collecion contains portraits of Judd, his family, and members of his community in Fredonia dating from approximately 1890 to 1910.

Biographical Note
Asa Walter Judd (1868-1959) was born on August 28, 1868 to Mary Minerva Dart and Zadok Knapp Judd in Lincoln County, Nevada, although at that time it was Iron County, Utah. His family moved to Kanab, Utah, in 1871. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Judd served a mission in Holland from and then again from 1893 to 1895. Judd married Alice May Young (1876-1899) on May 31, 1893; together they had two children. After Alice Young Judd died in 1899, Judd remarried Lilly Lenore Brown (1884-1917) on December 22, 1903; together, they had six children. By the early 20th century, Judd had moved from Kanab to nearby Fredonia, Arizona. Judd served in several bishoprics, was a United States Commissioner, and was elected Justice of the Peace of Fredonia in 1922. Asa Walter Judd died on July 17, 1959.
Content Description
The Asa Walter Judd photograph collection consists of 2 boxes containing 23 black-and-white portraits and cartes-de-visite depicting Judd, his family, and members of his community in Fredonia, Arizona. Box 2 is oversized and contains portraits of Judd's father, Zadok Knapp Judd. The collection dates from approximately 1890 to 1910.
