- This collection holds James Edwards sermons and notes, lectures and speeches, and articles he published. At the front of the collection is a brief biography of his academic background, vocational experience, and his travels. Additionally, there is a list of his various publications, some within the collection. He lectured at both Jamestown College and Whitworth College/University, and preached sermons at numerous churches on the west coast.

Historical Note
James R. Edwards received his bachelor's degree at Whitworth College in 1967 and his Ph.D. at Fuller Theological Seminary in 1978. He was an Associate Pastor and Minister to Students at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1971-1978. From 1978-1997, he taught at Jamestown College in the Department of Religion and Philosophy, and began teaching theology at Whitworth College in 1997. He retired as the Bruner-Welch Emeritus of Theology from Whitworth University in 2015.
