Historical Note

Founded in 1977, the Organization for Research on Women and Communications (ORWAC) promotes dialogue, discussion, research, and scholarship concerned with women, feminism, gender, oppression, and social change. ORWAC is a Western States Communication Association (WSCA) affiliate and sponsors programs at the WSCA convention. ORWAC publishes a journal which originated as a Bulletin, entitled Women's Studies in Communication, in the late 1980's
