Historical Note

Dr. Charles Kerns Buckle (1872–1919) was an educator and administrator best known for his contributions to teacher education in Wyoming. He served as principal of the Wyoming State Normal School and later as a professor of education at the University of Wyoming. Buckle also edited the Wyoming School Journal and was an active advocate for university education, traveling extensively throughout the state to promote higher learning. In 1910, he retired from his role at the Normal School and relocated to Inglewood, California, where he pursued a career in real estate and insurance until his death.

This collection contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and a set of bound copies of the “Wyoming School Journal.” This collection also includes school regulation books and a book of Buckle genealogy.
