Historical Note
Sallie Sharpe traveled from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to Japan in 1900.
Content Description
Collection contains a diary of Sallie Sharpe's journey through Japan in 1900. She landed in Yokohama in late April and continued through the country by rail, visiting Kamakura, Tokyo, Kobe, Nikko, and other places. She sailed again from Yokohama in early June. The diary includes photographs, clippings, cards, and other inserts.
