Historical Note

The Rocky Mountaineers is an outdoor club that originated in Missoula, Montana and was officially founded in 1960. Members of the group meet regularly to educate themselves on mountaineering techniques and safety, share knowledge of mountaineering and take trips demonstrating their knowledge and skills.

Donated to the Archives by Steven Schombel on behalf of the Rocky Mountaineers in 2005 and by Julie Kahl in 2011 and annually after 2013.

Processing Note

Arrangement of the collection at time of donation was maintained by the Archives, additions were added to appropriate folders.
