Sean Williams began teaching at The Evergreen State College in 1991. She received her BA from the University of California in Berkley in classical guitar performance. Her MA and Ph.D in ethnomusicology came from University of Washington in Seattle in the 1980s. She was a visiting faculty member on the shipboard university, Semester at Sea, that visited Nova Scotia, Reykjavik, St. Petersburg, Gdansk, Antwerp, LeHavre, Dublin, and Bilbao. Her focus at The Evergreen State College is on ethnomusicology, Irish Studies, and Asian Studies.
