Biographical Note
Christian Staub (1918-2004) was a Swiss photographer and painter who taught photography and architecture at the University of Washington. He studied under Hans Finsler, a leader in the new objectivity movement, and then worked in freelancing and advertising. He published a book of photographs on the circus and another one on village life in Switzerland. He taught at the Bauhaus school in Germany and the National Design Institute in Ahmedabad, India, before joining the UW faculty in 1967.
