Content Description
The photographs in P0581 depict daily life at the Wendover, Utah, Army Air Base during World War II. Only USO and recreational activities are shown; there are no photographs of historic airplanes or flight operations. The Wendover Air Base served as a training base from 1940 through the end of World War II, and parts of it are still in use as the Utah Test and Training Range, managed by the U.S. Air Force. Some photographs have official stamps with the date and other information; some have captions written on the reverse of the print; some have both sources of information, while some have no identifications at all. It is not known who wrote the captions on the backs of the photographs.
