Biographical Note
Peter Glazer (1952-) grew up in Portland, Oregon. In the late 1960s, he often spent time at the radio station KGAR in downtown Portland, and attended several rock concerts where he obtained autographs from the stage or backstage.
Content Description
The collection consists of concert posters; flyers, tickets, and other ephemera; and autographs relating to rock music played in Oregon in the late 1960s and early 1970s, collected by Peter Glazer of Portland, Oregon. The majority of concert posters and flyers are for performances in Portland, although at least two relate to concerts in Eugene, Oregon. Autographs in the collection are from members of the bands The Doors, including Jim Morrison; Fever Tree; Buffalo Springfield; Iron Butterfly; and the Steve Miller Band. Other musical groups represented in the collection include the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and the Tweedy Brothers. Other ephemera includes radio record surveys for the Portland radio stations KISN, KGW, and KINK; and fact sheets about members of The Doors. The collection also includes a photocopy of Glazer's 1967 diary entry when he met The Doors, and writings by Glazer in 2010 explaining how he acquired the materials in the collection.
