Summary
The Administrative Council was formed in 1915 to provide faculty representation in response to the Academic Freedom Controversy. The Council had authority over matters pertaining to educational policy and administration, subject to approval of the Board of Regents. The Administrative Council became the Faculty Council in 1947. The University Senate was created in 1970 as a successor to the Faculty Council. The name was changed again to the current Academic Senate in April 1987. This collection contains meeting minutes and agendas of the Faculty Council from 1947 to 1970 and of the Executive Committee of the Council from 1948 to 1970
