The collection is open and available for on-site research use. Researchers will be instructed to wear gloves. Though the images vary widely in their physical condition, reproductions in the form of digital scans and prints will be available for most of the items in the collection.

Historical Note

The Washington State Association of Broadcasters, a trade association for radio and television, was first organized in 1935. The association has had a de facto permanent secretary located at Washington State University since the early 1950s. The association's public relations and lobbying activities are officially located in Seattle.

Content Description

The records of the Washington State Association of Broadcasters consist of subject files that include correspondence, financial records, meetings records, and WSAB Bulletins. The files are divided into three series: Correspondence, Financial Information, and Meetings and Bulletins. Within each series, files are ordered chronologically.

The records are obviously incomplete, with very apparent gaps at different points. The location of the missing records is not known

Records of the Washington Association of Broadcasters were donated to the Washington State University Libraries in 1984 (MS85-32) by Val Limburg, professor of communications at WSU and secretary of the association.
