Separated Materials

The University of Chicago holds the Charles Edward Wilcox Civil War Diary, 1861-1863 as part of its Lincoln Collection. In the mid-1990s, Robert Jimerson, a law student, determined that the diary fragment in the EWSHS collection was probably the missing section of the Wilcox diary held by the University of Chicago. The finding aid for the Charles Edward Wilcox Civil War Diary at the University of Chigago is available at: http://ead.lib.uchicago.edu/rs3.php?eadid=ICU.SPCL.WILCOXCE&q=wilcox. See the collection file for correspondence regarding Jimerson's research.
