Historical Note
John Arthur Hill (1880-1951) was dean of the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture. He arrived in Wyoming in 1901 and entered the University of Wyoming as a student in 1902. After graduating he joined the Wyoming Experiment Station staff as a wool specialist. He married Evelyn Corthell in 1911. Hill became dean of the College of Agriculture and director of the experiment station in 1923. He retired as dean in 1950.
Content Description
The J.A. Hill collection includes correspondence (1910-1927); charts, inventories, and other materials concerning wool and the University of Wyoming Wool Department; as well as printed material about sheep and wool. Also included are a pair of beaded moccasins and a slide rule.
