Historical Note

Paul Ryan (b. 1900) was a petroleum executive and consultant with Warren Petroleum, Prairie Oil and Gas, and Shell Petroleum Corporation from 1927 to 1938. In 1938, he became president and chief executive of National Refining Company from 1938 to 1941. After a disabling airplane crash, he was a member of the Petroleum Industry War Council from 1942 to 1945. He later became a consultant and performed public service roles. At one time, he was a consultant in sales management and sales promotion.
