Historical Note

George Robert Minkoff (1943-1924) was a rare book dealer and author. He began a rare book dealing business in Alford, Massachusetts in the 1970s that initially specialized in the sale of illustrated first editions. The business evolved to collect author archives that Minkoff would then market to cultural institutions. Minkoff was the author of The Weight of Smoke that later turned into a book and television series.
