Biographical Note

William G. Mann was born in Nebraska on January 22, 1888. He received a B.S. in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1914 where he edited the Review of the School of Architecture. In that same year he also served as the Vice-President of the Penn Architectural Society. Mann engaged in a brief teaching stint at the University of Michigan before moving to Seattle in 1915, where he established and ran his own architectural firm from 1917 to 1929. He was a noted designer of Dutch Colonial houses and designed many notable Seattle buildings, including the Acacia fraternity house, Pearl market building and the Benton Court bungalow apartments. He died in Eagle Rock, California on January 5, 1930 at the age of 42.

Seven architectural blueprints and a booklet of specifications for a residence to be built for Mr. L.E. Hill at 2812 1/2 12th Ave. N. Seattle, Washington. According to the 1931 Polk Seattle City Directory, this is Leonidas Edwin Hill (1872-1934).
