Historical Note

Hugo Gernsback (1884-1967) has been called the “father of modern science fiction.” In 1908, he launched the first radio magazine called Modern Electronics and wrote the science fiction novel titled Ralph 124C 41+ in 1911. Gernsback worked as the editor of Amazing Stories, the world’s first science fiction magazine, in 1926. Years later in 1934, he formed the Science Fiction League.
