Content Description

These materials represent the early history of the Utah State University's Women's Athletics programs, primarily from a scrapbook compiled by Fern Gardner, one of the early women's athletics' faculty. Also included are tournament programs, intramural handbooks, news articles, photographs, and a timeline/summary of the program as it transitioned from extramural to intercollegiate sports. It primarily covers the period of 1968 until 1975. Sports represented include field hockey, lacrosse, softball, track and field, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and intramural sports. In addition, there are letters in support of Lucille Chase as USU's "first" gymnastics coach.
