Biographical Note

Joel Pritchard was born in Seattle, Washington in 1925. He worked for Griffin Envelope Co., 1948-1972; and was president from 1970-1972. Pritchard served in the Washington House of Representatives, 1958-1966, and in the Washington Senate, 1966-1970. He was elected as a Republican to the U.S. House of Representative in 1972 from the First District, Washington. He was re-elected in 1978. Pritchard served on the Foreign Affairs committee, the Asian and Pacific Affairs subcommittees , and International Operations. He also served on the Merchant Marine and Fisheries committee, the Fish and Wildlife subcommittee, and the Oceanography subcommittee.
