Run time 50 minutes. From the Discovery Channel Video Library. "The Eisenhower years: framed by the rise of the Russian "red menace", would forge the world's agenda for the next thirty years. This is the inside story of one of the greatest military leaders of modern history who would lay down arms to seek world peace. Through rare film footage, candid eyewitness interviews, and penetrating discourse, distinguished journalist John Chancellor brings new light on an American legend through one of the most dangerous periods of the American century." 16 | Salt Lake City Once Upon A Time color, sound
VHS
A KUED7 video. "Once upon a time, there were no malls in Salt Lake City. Parking was abundant, and anything past 2700 South was considered "out in the sticks". It was the early 1940s, and like most of America, muck of daily life revolved around the war effort. Streetcars bustled people downtown to shop at large, elegant department stores like Auerbach's. The city was brimming with dance halls and grand movie houses. Everyone took the train to Saltair and Lagoon. It was a time when men wore hats, cars had running boards, and everyone dressed up to go downtown. KUED takes you on a nostalgic journey to those days with this delightful video scrapbook featuring hundreds of photos, archival footage, and interviews with the people who fondly remember Salt Lake City "once upon a time.""

23 | Return to Italy color, sound
DVDs
Run time 2 hours. Created by the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division. "This two-hour video parallels both the 10th Mountain Association's 2003 trip and much of the 10th's Italian Campaign during World War II. Travelling along the same roads when possible, finding their original foxholes on occasion, the video explores the rich legacy of the 10th Mountain Division as only the troopers can tell it. Blending Italy's natural beauty with interviews from nearly 50 troopers, their anecdotes vividly illuminate the price of peace and the cost of war in very real personal terms. From moving ceremonies...lively street dances...battlefield tours...to mountaintop memorial services, the journey is an unforgettable tribute to the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division."
