Barry N. Rosenberg, Director of Forest Watch, 1981-1999

Barry Rosenberg, a long time resident of Sandpoint and Priest Lake, was hired in the early 1990s by the Inland Empire Public Lands Council to direct the Forest Watch program in Northern Idaho. Barry, a colleague and friend of Dr. John Osborn of the IEPLC, both became advocates for forest conservation efforts in the inland northwest. Rosenberg became a well-known figure in the environmental conservation community and filed many appeals on behalf of the public for illegal timber sales. Rosenberg passed away at the age of 79 in 2022.
