University of Montana Forestry Alumni Association Records, 1916-1991

The University of Montana Forestry Alumni Association was founded by College of Forestry alumni in February 1948 to support the efforts of the University of Montana College of Forestry. The organization pledged to support the Montana State University Alumni Association (now the University of Montana Alumni Association), and to work with the College of Forestry. Members of the association also supported and administered the Alumni Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was created by the College of Forestry in 1947. When it was first chartered, the Forestry Alumni Association elected officers and planned to appoint regional vice-presidents of the association to expand the reach of the organization. It planned to meet annually during the Foresters’ Ball. Eventually, the association moved to meeting multiple times a year, including to host awards banquets for students in the College of Forestry.
