Jerry Sohl (Gerald Allan Sohl, Sr.) was born December 2, 1913. He was an American television and screenplay writer, as well as a science fiction novelist. Sohl was a television writer for Star Trek: The Original Series, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Outer Limits, and worked as a ghostwriter for a few episodes of The Twilight Zone for Charles Beaumont. He wrote over twenty novels and film scripts in his lifetime. He also wrote two non-fiction works- Underhanded Chess and Underhanded Bridge in 1973. Sohl wrote seven of his novels under pseudonyms- Nathan Butler, Sean Mei Sullivan, and Roberta Jean Mountjoy. Jerry passed away in November of 2004.

Some of his notable films include: Twelve Hours to Kill (1960) and Night Slaves (1970). His novels include Costigan’s Needle (1953), Night Slaves (1965), The Lemon Eaters (1967), The Anomaly (1971), The Spun Sugar Hole (1971), The Resurrection of Frank Borchard (1973), Death Sleep (1983), and Kaheesh (1983).

This collection contains screenplays, teleplays, and manuscripts from Jerry Sohl’s career as an author and scriptwriter. It includes works Sohl wrote for film and television, as well as novels he wrote under pseudonyms. Notable inclusions are episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series, episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Twelve Hours to Kill (1960) and Night Slaves (1970). Among his novel manuscripts are Night Slaves (1965), The Lemon Eaters (1967), The Anomaly (1971), The Spun Sugar Hole (1971), The Resurrection of Frank Borchard (1973), Death Sleep (1983), and Kaheesh (1983).
