Historical Note
Washington State University's School of Music was established in 1901. WSU's High School Summer Camp was started in 1933 by Fine Arts Dean Herbert Kimbrough. It eventually expanded to include non-music fields including journalism, speech, drama, and art. Each Camp lasted four weeks (mid-June to mid-July); while the first camp was only 40 high school students, by the mid-1960s it had grown to over 300.
Content Description
Primarily consists of photos of notable alumni of the Music Department dating back to at least 1909. Includes correspondence and memoranda related to awards given to alumni and special appearances from 1966-1990. Also contains lists of alumni and architectual plans related to the expansion of Kimbrough Music Hall on the WSU Pullman campus.
