Historical Note
Oliver Kenneth “Ken” Erickson (1930-2013) was a governmental manager in California and Wyoming. In 1959 Erickson was appointed City Manager for the city of Lynwood, California. Ten years later, he moved his family to Casper, Wyoming to take up the post of City Manager there. While in Casper, Erickson put in motion a series of urban renewal development projects, including a downtown parking facility, a new City Hall and jail, and various parks. He retired from this position at the request of Governor Mike Sullivan who requested Erickson’s service as director of the Department of Administration in Cheyenne. When Jim Geringer took office, Erickson became the governor’s Chief of Staff.
