Historical Note

Alice Hunt (1906-2002) received her masters degree in archaeology. She published papers on Death Valley and the La Sal Mountains. Charles Butler Hunt (1906-1997) was one of the founders of the Utah Geological Society and held professorships at Johns Hopkins, the University of Utah, and New Mexico State University. He was also director of the Geology Unit for the United States Geological Survey (USGS). He published papers on the Henry Mountains and other areas.

Content Description

3635 slides are of archeological areas and geologic interest. Several hundred photographs of their personal and professional lives. The slides are in binders grouped by subjects. Most slides have an individual description but numbers prevent each from being described on the register.
