Historical Note
Albert A. Ehrenzweig was a law professor at the University of California-Berkeley. His writings included treatises on psychoanalytic jurisprudence and on conflict of laws. Ehrenzweig was born in Vienna and established a career in Austria, which he abandoned as a result of the Nazi rise to power. He emigrated to the United States and returned to law school in Chicago in 1939. In 1948 Ehrenzweig joined the faculty at UC-Berkeley, where he taught until his death in 1974.
Content Description
This collection contains biographical materials about Ehrenzweig and his family, in particular his grandfather Adolf Ehrenzweig and his uncle Armin Ehrenzweig. Collection also contains correspondence, reprints, manuscripts by Ehrenzweig, photographs, poems, and documents relating to his persecution in Nazi-occupied Austria and emigration to the United States.
