Biographical Note

Professor of English and Black Studies, University of Washington.

Charles A. Watkins born 1930, died 1972. Professor Watkins subject interests were in Medieval English and Black literature. He was hired by and taught in the English department, however, he was concerned with the development of a Black Studies program at the University of Washington.
