Historical Note

Roger Butterfield (1907-1981) was a reporter, writer, and editor. He worked for Time, Life, and as a free-lance writer and consultant. A member of the New York Historical Society, Butterfield authored several books concerning U.S. history.

Collection contains books concerning automotive and cattle industries; reports and booklets concerning mining companies, including annual reports of the Consolidated Virginia Mining Company, Red Fox Bullfrog Mining Company, and El Dorado Gold and Silver Mining Districts; post cards of various French aircraft, issues of Hampton’s Magazine and The New York Weekly.
