Historical Note
Elliott Mittler was an educator who collected a large number of public service announcements, 1975-1981, which he used in his classes.
Content Description
The Elliott Mittler collection contains 1,174 Public Service Announcements, unspooled, on 16mm film regarding American life, 1975-1982. There is a detailed inventory included for the Mittler Collection of Public Service Announcements and correspondence between Mittler and the contracting organizations such as the YMCA, March of Dimes, Salvation Army and many more. A second series in the collection contains a large number of television scripts and several motion picture scripts from the 1940s through the 1960s. Included are: "Lassie", "The Lineup", "Laramie", "The Life of Riley", "Wild Bill Hickok", and "Wanted Dead or Alive".
