Historical Note

The University of Wyoming, Outreach School was part of the University of Wyoming’s outreach and distance education programing to extend the University of Wyoming to the state and the world, and bring the world to Wyoming. The school did this by offering courses taught by University of Wyoming faculty to the general public and UW students through various learning technologies such as online courses, audio and video conferencing, and correspondence study. The Outreach School was closed in 2017 and reorganized into the University of Wyoming, Office of Distance Education Support.

Content Description

Collection contains Outreach School office and course records from 1947-2017. The records include correspondence, reports, course information and approvals, section books regarding courses and colleges, courses pending and taught for each semester, and video and audio recordings from UWTV and teleconferencing/video courses for the Outreach Credit Program.
