Emerson Yorke, born Heyward Emerson Yorke, immigrated to the United States in the 1910s from Canada. He primarily worked out of New Jersey and New York, establishing Emerson Yorke Studios and Laguna Productions, Inc. These companies produced films for the United States military, charitable foundations, and organizations such as the National Tuberculosis Association, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Public Health Service. Notable works by Yorke include the 1968 Freedom Foundation Award winner “Our Heritage,” as well as “The 9th State- New Hampshire,” “This is Baseball,” and "Alone, Unarmed, and Unafraid."
