Content Description

This collections contains the papers of Jack G. Webb, former director of the Federal Administration Association (FAA) Pacific-Asia and Alaskan regions, and his wife, Hildreth “Dottie” Osborn Webb. As Jack spent several years working for the FAA with the companionship of his wife, the collection consists of several materials from Jack’s career relating to the FAA and may be beneficial to anyone researching aviation in the united states.

The papers are divided into four categories: personal and professional papers of Jack and Hildreth Webb, pilot logs and related materials, scrapbooks, and oversized: awards and certificates to Jack and Dottie Webb with FAA-related materials.

The personal and professional papers consist of two archival boxes of assorted materials dealing with Jack’s career in the FAA (professional papers), correspondence, awards and certificates, and some personal papers of Jack and Dottie Webb.

The pilot logs are contained in one box and ordered chronologically. The logs include information from the year after Jack began working for the FAA (1943) until 1962.

Boxes four through seven carry the scrapbooks of Jack and Hildreth Webb, including photos from Jack’s career, the Hawaiian Open Golf Tournament which Jack and Dottie participated in along with American Professional Golfer Jack Nicklaus, and Vice-president Herbert Humphrey’s trip to the Pacific-Asia region during Jack’s time as director there.

The last box consists of several oversized awards and certificates given to Jack and Dottie Webb over the course of their career with the FAA.
