Content Description

Architectural and Engineering Services (AES) was and is a service that provided to the University of Idaho a full range of architectural services. This collection includes photographic prints and negatives from the AES for University of Idaho campus buildings and the Moscow, ID community. Some buldings are the Gault and Upham Halls, Lindley Hall, the Clarke-McNary Nursery, and the Student Union Building.

Historical Note

Architectural and Engineering Services (AES) provided to the University of Idaho a full range of architectural services related to the planning, programming, design, document production, cost estimation, bidding, and construction observation of capital projects and maintenance, alteration and repair projects. AES is composed of the following departments: Design Center, CADD Center, Utilities and Engineering, and Construction Management.

Currently, the AES is responsible for maintaining, filing, storage and the reproduction of campus construction blueprints, specifications, utility infrastructure data and electronic architectural media. As of 2022, the Architectural and Engineering Services archive houses over 3,000 sets of construction drawings dating as far back as the Old Administration Building.
