Historical Note

The Mass Media, Pop Culture, and Folklore program was a Coordinated Studies program designed by Tom Foote and Sam Schrager. This program focused on ethnography and the relationship between pop and folk cultures. This was a yearlong program; in fall the class focused on the interview and oral history, in winter the focus was moved to ethnographical studies, and in the spring the focus was on the presentation of materials.
