Historical Note

Albert M. Rung was employed with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad Company and The Colorado and Southern Railway Company at Burlington Station in Casper, Wyoming in the 1960s. In the mid-1970s, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where he served as Vice President of Public Relations and Advertising with Burlington Northern. Towards the late 1980s, Rung moved to a new career in publishing as an employee for Great Days Publishing, Inc. in Santa Barbara, California.

Collection contains two books on railroad finance and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy strike of 1888; a map of the International Peace Park; a newsletter titled Al Rung’s Wyoming Newsletter; a paper by Rung; photographs of a Crow Indian chief and a buffalo stampede and railroad insignia; 17 posters of Northern Pacific, Burlington, and Great Northern railroad history.
