Biographical Note

Harold Moore (b.1923) was the Director for the Writers' Conference and was a professor in the English Department at the University of Utah from 1958 until 1992. The Writers' Conference was an annual event and featured workshops and lectures by prominent writers, including James Dickey, Richard Scowcroft, and others. It's purpose was to teach writing skills to any interested person. Harold Moore was responsible for getting writers to come to the conference and most of the correspondence in this collection involves his inviting various writers to participate.
