Historical Background
Discover America was a series created by Teaching Learning Network Productions (TLN) through the 1990s and early 2000s. It was a nationally aired travel series that partnered with local governments to create informational and promotional programs about locations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. TLN was based out of Palm Beach, Florida.

The collection consists of raw footage from Washington communities Chewelah, Port Angeles, Puyallup, and Seattle during the 1990s. Some of the footage was used in the Discover America series.

"Chatauqua Festival" Parade, with carnival rides, outdoor flea market, and other events. 9th Annual "James Dean Days" event featuring vintage cars. Skiers and snowboarders at ski resort. Various views of the town, including library, little league baseball, museum, casino, and Mexican restaurant. Interview with Garn Christensen.
