Content Description

The Martin F. Seedorf Papers consists of research materials gathered for instruction and publication on the history of eastern Washington with a heavy emphasis on the history of Grant and Douglas counties. The collection contains many files on the use of the Columbia River both for land reclamation through irrigation and for electricity through the construction of dams, such as the Grand Coulee Dam. Collection materials consist of clippings, photographs, newspapers, publications about the history and development of the Big Bend region, and Seedorf's notes taken from books, articles, and other publications.
