Biographical Note
Robert Harris Fife was born December 16, 1863 in Providence, Cache County, Utah to James and Elizabeth Watts Fife. He attended Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah, receiving the equivalent of a high school education. On April 16, 1891, he married Mary Elizabeth Stocks in Logan, Cache County, Utah. In December 1893, Fife left Iona, Idaho for Virginia to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He returned to Iona in 1896. Fife died April 12, 1924 in Logan, Cache County, Utah.
Robert Lee Fife was born May 10, 1892 in Lewiston, Cache County, Utah to Robert Harris and Mary Elizabeth Stocks Fife. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1912-1914. After returning from the Northern States Mission, Fife married Zenobia Helena Soelberg on October 4, 1916. Fife passed away on November 16, 1958 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Idaho.
Content Description
This collection contains three diaries of Robert Harris Fife, dating 1893-1896, from his mission in Virginia for Tthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The collection also contains one missionary diary of Robert Lee Fife, son of Robert Harris Fife, dating 1912-1914, from the Northern States Mission, which was headquartered in Chicago. The diaries mainly document daily missionary activities, and also include expense accounts and other records. The collection also contains one photograph of Robert Lee Fife.
