Detailed Description of the Collection

  • Series I: Ravalli store, 1906-1918

    2 volumes and 1 folder

This series consists of financial records from Worden's general merchandise store in Ravalli, Montana. The store sold groceries, dry goods, and boots and shoes. The general journal details transactions with the store's suppliers, and the sales record contains names and purchases of individual customers.

  • Series II: Bus State Depot, 1925

    2 volumes

This series consists of financial records from the Bus State Depot, which Worden operated in Missoula, Montana, in 1925. The first ledger, which also contains materials in Series II, contains lists of magazines purchased for the depot from a broker in Spokane, Washington. The second volume is a check register for the depot from Missoula Trust and Savings Bank, which documents individual purchases.

  • Series III: John Weightman Stable and Stage, 1903-1915

    3 folders

This series consists of financial materials from the John Weightman Stable and Stage, a livery business in Kalispell and Ravalli, Montana. The ledgers from the Kalispell stable document the livery orders of area residents, including prominent families like the Conrads.
