Historical Note

Clifford Warren Axtell (1881-1957) was a prominent businessman of Thermopolis, Wyoming. He was an attorney and president of the First National Bank of Thermopolis. He was also active in the Republican Party in Wyoming.

    A membership application for the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an application for a savings certificate from the Colonial Building & Loan Association (Ogden, Utah).

    Mostly incoming correspondence to Axtell. Also includes copies of some of Axtell’s outgoing correspondence, including a 1949 letter to Rep. Frank Barrett of the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as letters to family members acknowledging Axtell’s death in 1957.
