Historical Note

Margaret C. “Peg” Tobin was born November 22, 1920 in Casper, Wyoming. After graduating from Midwest High School, Tobin started her college career at Mundelein College outside of Chicago. She stayed at Mundelein College for a year before transferring to the University of Wyoming where she received her bachelor’s degree in business education and then her master’s in 1962.Tobin is best known for being the Dean of Women at the University of Wyoming from 1964-1976. During this time, Tobin also served as a staff person for Wyoming senator, Cliff Hansen. Throughout her life, Tobin was involved with Pi Beta Phi, UW Alumni Association, and St. Paul’s Newman Center.
