Historical Note
Shumway and Dade Mining Company made their headquarters in Grand Junction, Colorado, and mined the southwestern part of the state, perhaps other areas as well, during the 1950s and 1960s. They frequently dealt with uranium and radium mining.
Content Description
This collection contains company records of their involvement in uranium and radium mining and ore hauling. There are employee records, supplier invoices, income statements and federal tax forms and receipts. There are also ore shipment records and daily employee logs that describe the depth drilled for the day and the location of the drilling.
