Biographical Note
Charles Dahler went to Colorado during the 1859 gold rush and later worked for Ben Holladay Overland Stage Line where he went to Montana Territory in 1868. After Holladay sold out to Wells Fargo, Dahler joined with a Salt Lake Banker, Warren Hussey, to form Hussey, Dahler & Company. They opened banks in Montana and Colorado.

The Banking House of Hussey, Dahler & Company letter reads, "Dear Sirs, We are late ultmo P.M. in receipt of yr favor of 8th inst with enclosure and note contents. No special news weather very hot and strawberries and grasshoppers abundant Yours truly Hussey, Dahler & Company."
