Historical Note
Chester H. Lauck (1902-1980) portrayed Columbus “Lum” Edwards on the radio program “Lum n’ Abner” that ran from 1931 to 1954. Lauck and his co-star, Norris Goff, created a comedic portrayal of a small town called Pine Ridge where they run the Jot ‘em Down Store as co-owners. Each episode follows a new money making venture that Lum and Abner pursue only for their plans to be foiled by Squire Skimp.
