Biographical Note

Son of John and Glenn Walker Wallace, Matthew Walker Wallace is an investor and philanthropist whose greatest efforts to keep the arts alive in Utah are linked with the Utah Symphony, Ballet West, and the American Arts Alliance. Wallace also served on a number of public service committees in Salt Lake City, including the Arthritis Foundation, Utah State Fair Foundation, Rotary Club, the Greater Salt Lake Homeless Committee, Planned Parenthood, the University of Utah College of Business, Salt Lake City Downtown Alliance, Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation,the Nature Conservancy, and the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

During the course of his career, Wallace promoted such programs as the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, TRAX, Urban Renewal, Home Rule, Liquore-by-the-Drink, and the City-County Consolidation.
