Historical Note

William H. Romme was an ecologist and college professor. He was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his Ph.D. in botany from the University of Wyoming in 1979. Since 1979, Romme has worked as a faculty member at Eastern Kentucky University, Fort Lewis College (Colorado), and Colorado State University, studying the ecological role of fires and other disturbance processes in forests.
